Merry Christmas :)

Went to orchard road yesterday with bro. It was drizzling on and off and hence the usual Christmas mayhem was disappointingly missing. We did not see any of the street performances or experience near misses with the party nozzles. The light up was pretty and there was still enough crowd to jostle you around. The best Christmas tree was the one in Ngee Ann City, rising four storeys and having a red and white theme. Did some shopping in Takashimaya, where they had an interesting teddy bear tree.

Then headed to Food Republic for dinner and spent 15min looking for seats. The guy at the western stall was advertising his 'Paparika Chicken' dish strongly and bro fell for it. But it turned out to be quite delicious. This year the choice of head gear was a tiny 2 inch Christmas cap which was sticking out from people's heads in all angles. I am still wondering how they clipped it in place since it seemed to have no obvious fastening. The traditional big arch near the Mariott was a tad ordinary and the tree outside Wheelock quite nice. Finally rounded it off with a movie at Shaw. Ip Man.

If people felt the pinch of recession they did a good job of hiding it. Everyone was having fun and Orchard Road lived up to its name :)
